A lustrous undyed woollen spun yarn with a soft and silky feel. The fleece is sorted by hand into four natural shades from cream to dark grey before being spun locally in Cornwall.

Gotland sheepThe Gotland Breed

The Gotland breed of sheep originate from the Baltic island midway between Sweden and Estonia. They are a hornless primitive breed with a friendly and bright character having a fine boned black head and a dense and lustrous curly fleece with a soft silky feel.
The fleece is a mix of white and black fibre and has a long staple with the white fibre around 35 micron with the black slightly thicker.
The wool knits up into beautiful garments with a lovely drape, it is also ideal for dyeing and felting.
