Our Double Knitting weight wool is manufactured entirely in Yorkshire worsted spun from British wool. The soft 'Cashmere' feel of a Bluefaced Leicester wool is one of the finest of the British yarns. This wool when spun into yarn provides a superb fibre for the craft knitter to work with and is perfect for home dyeing and felting.
Wool being a premier natural fibre is also resilient, hard wearing, warm in winter and cool in summer. Wool can absorb 18.25% of its dry weight in moisture therefore it is not clammy to the skin like synthetic fibres and will absorb moisture to avoid feeling wet to the touch in light showers.
