British Breeds Yarns (formerly Creskeld)
Specialist and rare breed Aran and 4 ply (fingering) weight wool is manufactured entirely in Yorkshire worsted spun from British wools. Many different sheep breeds have evolved in Britain during hundreds of years, each breed providing wool fleeces with different colours and characteristics from the wiry wool of the Herdwick through to the soft 'Cashmere' feel of a Bluefaced Leicester wool in greys, browns, cream, oatmeal and black/brown shades. These wools when spun into yarn provide a superb pallete for the craft knitter to work from.
Wool being a premier natural fibre is also resilient, hard wearing, warm in winter and cool in summer. Wool can absorb 18.25% of its dry weight in moisture therefore it is not clammy to the skin like synthetic fibres and will absorb moisture to avoid feeling wet to the touch in light showers.

Rare breed yarns are subject to varying availability and may not be available until the next shearing.
